Your roof is only as good as the crew that installs it. These eight checks separate the professionals from the storm-chasers.
The eight checks
- Confirm they're licensed and carry liability insurance and WorkSafeBC coverage.
- Ask for a written, itemized quote, not a number scribbled on a card.
- Read recent local reviews, not just testimonials on their own site.
- Ask what's included: tear-off, ventilation, flashing, and cleanup.
- Get the workmanship warranty in writing, and check how long they've been around to honour it.
- Make sure they pull permits where required.
- Watch for pressure tactics and 'today only' pricing, real roofers don't rush you.
- Choose local. A company down the road is accountable in a way a door-knocker isn't.
Trust your gut
If a quote seems too good to be true, or a salesperson won't put things in writing, walk away. A good roofer earns the job with straight answers.
